All phonological rules are captured directly by locating syllables formed. The phonological processes that trigger this type of syllabification are observed to be Vowel deletion, vowel lengthening, coalescence, glide formation and assimilation. In the third part, it was observed that there are five clusters that permit syllables in Kasulu-Kiha to be V, C, CV, CCV/NCV/CGV and CCCV or NCGV. Five structures of onsets are presented namely C-onset, CC-onset or NC/CG -onset and CCC-onset or NCG -onset. The second part presents onset where it is shown that Kasulu-Kiha syllable structure is more motivated by onset than rhyme. Firsrly weobserved that a rhyme is a part of syllable which can be divided into Nucleus and Coda. Basing on data from Kiha, the study presents Onset and Rhyme into binary branching. ABSTRACT The study describes phonological analysis of Syllable structure of Kasulu Kiha spoken in Kigoma in the western part of Tanzania.
